Literature Text

Once upon a time, there was a little angel. This angel had lost her way and had fallen through the sky, down to the Mortal World.

The little angel wondered all around this world new to her. After many days of traveling, she spotted a small town in the distance.

The closer the angel came to the town, the colder it became, and by the time she had reached the outer limits of the town, white pieces of the sky had begun to fall upon the Earth. Nevertheless, the angel was much too exhausted, cold, and lonely to notice.

There were no mortals in the streets this chilly evening. The shops had closed, and the air had the distinct sound as if time had stopped, though the snow fell still. Peering into a window of a house, the little angel viewed a family of mortals gathered around an indoor tree with boxes hidden underneath.

A little boy, about eight years of age, saw the angel peering through the window. A smile lit up his face, and he quickly ran to the front door.

The angel, afraid, tried to hide, but the little boy had opened the door before she’d gotten the chance.

“I’m terribly sorry,” the little angel told the boy, turning her gaze down to the lightly covered ground. “I did not mean to intrude.”

“Aren’t you cold?” the boy asked, to the angel’s surprise. She glanced down at her once dirty dress. She was barefoot.

“Y-Yes,” she replied. “And lost. I can’t find my way home, and I can’t find anyone to help me find my way back. I’m alone.” Her eyes began to glisten sadly.

“Really?” The little boy cocked his head and looked over the angel. “But your daddy’s right behind you, isn’t he?”

She turned around. A young man with long, brown hair and a white robe smiled at the angel.

“You found me,” she exclaimed.

“No, child,” the man replied warmly, “I have been with you through your whole journey.” The angel could see that her trail of footprints she’d left while searching for a way back to Heaven were still there, only now she could see another, larger pair of footprints beside her own.

“Happy Birthday, sir,” the little boy grinned. The man nodded back at the boy. Then, before the little angel could speak, the little boy handed her a white bear. “Just like the snow,” she whispered, hugging the bear tightly. She looked up and had seen that the boy had gone back inside with his family. She looked up to the sky at the falling snow and smiled. She had never been lost, she realized. She had been searching for something. And now that something was found.

The End.
I got this idea from another poem/story, so if this reminds you of anything, I don't wanna be thought of plagiarizing. ^^;

One of my school friends, made a comic to this. She says she did it really quick and badly, but I think it rocks.

That is really painfully adorable. even with the ultamate cheesy of Jesus following along, it was still very touching, so much of a contrast to the rest of these downer entries...
